Bam tells public: "I’m OK but pray for our country"

Re-electionist Senator Paolo Benigno "Bam" Aquino IV wants his friends and supporters to know he was doing "okay" despite still being outside the “Magic 12” in the partial and unofficial tally on Friday.

In a post on his Facebook page, Aquino shared that he wasn't planning on making a public statement until the official vote count was over, but friends have been asking him how he was.

"I just want to tell everyone out there that I'm ok! Please continue praying for me, better yet, please continue praying for and loving our country," it read.

Among those wishing him well was Vice President Leni Robredo, who left a chain of yellow heart emojis down in the comments.

Aquino and his fellow opposition bets from Otso Diretso still remain outside the Top 12 candidates based on the partial and unofficial tally from election returns already at 97.89% on Friday.

With 14,055,212 votes, Bam is the highest ranking Otso Diretso bet at No. 14.

But in the latest available partial, official count of the National Board of Canvassers, as of 9:30 p.m., Aquino hopped into the Magic 12 with a tally of 11,001,047 votes, though the results were sourced from only 107 certificates of canvass.

On Friday, Aquino vowed that his love for the country would remain steadfast whatever the verdict may be.

"Hindi mauubos ang pagmamahal ko sa ating mga kababayan maganda man o hindi ang resulta ng eleksyon," he said.

"Love love love and gratitude to all those sending their messages of support!" he added.
